I spend many hours in my beautiful home studio, which gives me the opportunity to explore online artist workshops! Lately, I’ve been intrigued with Deb Weiers’ work (@debweiersart), which I discovered through Kara Bullock’s collection of online courses (karabullockart.com). Deb’s subjects are a mixture of realistic figural study, cubism, and fantasy — perhaps I shouldn’t reveal that I can identify nearly all of her characters with someone in my life! (If we’ve met before, please don’t be offended.) MIXING MY MEDIA About the same time I took one of Deb’s online workshops, I splurged on an impressively expensive watercolor set (what a difference better pigments make!), and I also bought some acrylic inks as well as waterproof black India ink — none of which I’ve had success (or interest in)…
