The idea for this sweet little journal sprang from the desire to come up with a project for Earth Day. I wanted to use recycled materials as well as what I had on hand. At that same time, my daughter was getting ready to go abroad, and she had asked me if we could buy a journal for her trip. So, I thought, why not make one for her? I had limited knowledge of bookmaking and binding, so I wanted to keep it simple but create something special as well. I looked around and saw empty paper bags on the kitchen floor, and thought, let’s see what I can do with these! The journal needed to be a smaller size for travel.
