Lisa Oxley grew up in New South Wales, Australia, amidst what she lovingly calls a watery wonderland. If this description conjures visions of mermaids swimming through the deep blue sea, then you’re on the right track. For an impressive combined total of 140 years, Lisa’s family has served the NSW Lighthouse Service. Growing up in the wonderland surrounding the lighthouse, she spent her days frolicking along pristine beaches and lakes. As she recalls, “My first memories were of creating sandcastles and being transformed into a mermaid upon the sand by my brother, always bejeweled with seaweed and shells collected along the foreshore, or the glistening rockpools.” Growing up IN THE wonderland SURROUNDING THE lighthouse, SHE SPENT HER DAYS frolicking ALONG PRISTINE beaches AND lakes.
