Lisa Oxley I have in the past and will occasionally throw in bulky elements, but I do try and avoid too many extra layers of thicker elements. When you have many journals stuffed together on shelves, respecting the other pieces and pages is important, so I try not to distort the book itself. Carol A. More Since many of my journals are deeply personal and not for sale, I will add bulky elements like little plastic letter block beads, fabrics, flat-backed rhinestones, feathers, etc. to my journals. I tend to create emotional, gritty work, and bulky elements can be symbolic for the burdens we all carry. Lynne Moncrieff Bulky items often make an appearance in my journals as part of the storytelling or a means to bring textural interest. I…
