Doften av jul

Det är inte mycket änglasång och julstämning i Julias röriga liv, och nu är hon gravid med en man som varken vill veta av henne eller barnet. Som tur är finner hon tröst i ett väldoftande bageri.

”Det rådde inget tvivel: Hon var gravid” Precis när Julia vaknade trodde hon att hon känt doften av gran. Så livlig hade hennes dröm varit. I drömmen gick hon och hennes mamma runt i lägenheten med ett stearinljus, och i varje rum hade de bränt några sprakande tomtebloss. Precis som de hade gjort varje julafton i Julias barndomshem, så att hela huset luktade jul. Men så vaknade hon, och det fanns varken gran eller mamma. Julias mamma hade dött i cancer när Julia bara var 18 år gammal. Men de senaste veckorna hade mamman dykt upp i hennes drömmar lika tydligt som när hon just hade gått bort.
