ALEX TIEGHI-WALKER describes himself as a tumbleweed. He grew up on the coast of South Wales, the son of an Italian ceramist and a British academic specializing in ancient history. As a child, he lived for several years in Italy at the foothills of the Alps. He went to boarding school in a Welsh medieval castle that dates to the 12th century. Before attending university in northeast England, he spent the better part of a year living in India, in Mumbai and Delhi. In 2009 he returned to Italy as a volunteer at the Venice Biennale. His first job took him to London, working for the global video channel Nowness.
