A new high-jewelry collection from Van Cleef & Arpels delivers the sun, moon, and stars

To quote the French astronomer Camille Flammarion: “The spectacle of the sky attracts us, envelops us, speaks to us of the infinite, gives us the dizziness of the abyss; for, more than any other, it seizes the contemplative mind and appeals to it, being the truth, the infinite, the eternal, the all.” His remarks may date back over 140 years; still they resonate just as poetically today and, in the case of the Parisian jewelry house Van Cleef & Arpels, form the basis of a new collection, Sous Les Étoiles (translation: Under the Stars).
