MICROSOFT EXCEL Move columns and rows by holding down Shift You can rearrange columns and rows in spreadsheets by cutting and pasting them, but there’s a simpler way to move your data. First, highlight the cells you’d like to move ( 1 in our screenshot below), then hold down the Shift key and move the cursor to the edge of the column 2 .
