Similarly priced competition like the Sandisk Extreme and Samsung T7 top out at 1,000 MB/s, while expensive models such as the Sandisk Extreme Pro hit 1,900MB/s. The MSI Datamag uses a Phison PS2251-U18 controller and 3D NAND, and on a USB 4 connection, we managed peaks of 1,660 MB/s reading and 1,860 MB/s writing using the ATTO disk benchmark. We also sustained 1,642 MB/s reading and 1,514 MB/s writing in Windows, easily exceeding the rated speeds.
