$64.95 | PC | Steam Expeditions: Rome is a historical RPG with elements of strategy that sees you conquering much of the classical world while navigating high-level Roman politics on the home front. Fiddly RPG traits like levelling, trade and inventory management are simplified, which you may be grateful for in a game that still manages to clock in at 70-plus hours. You’ll spend much of the game running around with six companions. There’s enough banter between these ragtag Romans to build up some fondness for them, but unfortunately their sidequests – like most sidequests in the game – struggle to squeeze in around the main story, like jam barely clinging to the edges of an overstuffed sandwich.
