Extremely inflated prices caused by supply shortages, pandemic disruptions and mining demand has killed any possibility of a current generation GPU purchase for vast swathes of gamers. The 6500 XT is promoted as being a 1080p capable card at an affordable price, but AMD’s quest for a budget hero has resulted in a card that’s stripped to the bone. So much so that it struggles to compete against cards that are several years old. The RX 6500 XT is an RDNA2 based card based on the 6nm Navi 24 GPU with 1024 shaders.
