AMD’s Threadripper CPUs are undoubtedly high end. Thus, accompanying X399 motherboards are generally pricey compared to the mainstream AMD and Intel platforms because they are complex. All those PCIe lanes, quad channel memory, huge socket and expansive connectivity means X399 motherboards will never be cheap. Or will they? ASRock has gone and done it. The Phantom Gaming 6 is a high end motherboard that comes in at just $285. Straight up – that’s dirt cheap.
