Report blasts Liberal’s FTTN ahead of likely early election

The NBN comedy of disasters won’t come to an end anytime soon, writes Shaun Prescott.

Here’s a compelling theory: according to former prime minister Kevin Rudd, the national embarrassment that is the NBN can at least partially be blamed on Foxtel. That is, Rudd claims to have evidence that News Corp mogul Rupert Murdoch worked to undermine the then-incumbent Labor Party’s plans for the infrastructure, which would bolster the burgeoning reach of Netflix and, it was thought, diminish the competitiveness of Foxtel. During a reddit AMA (‘Ask Me Anything’) in January to promote his book, Rudd didn’t pull punches.
