A perfect balance between price and peformance.

We’re finally bringing the budget AMD build up to the current generation, replacing the Ryzen 5 3600 with the 5600X – at a price increase of just $30. This should net us around 10-20 percent better performance, depending on the workload. Since this is the ‘budget’ machine, we’re not upgrading to a more costly X570 motherboard, but sticking with the B550 chipset in Gigabyte’s Aorus Elite AM4 motherboard. This move also nets a nice $51 saving over the MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus AM4 used previously. Bear in mind you may need a 2000- or 3000-series Ryzen CPU to update the board’s BIOS if you buy a used or refurbished board.
