The Last of Us 2 leaks, forcing Sony’s hand

Delayed indefinitely due to COVID-19 complications, the game will now release in June.

“While the source of the video footage leaks is unknown, rumours suggest they were leaked by a former developer on the project.” Sony delayed its highly anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive The Last of Us 2 in March, due to logistical problems resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The indefinite delay was not taken well by the fanbase, but Sony has since announced a June 19 release date. It’s unclear whether this is what Sony had in mind the whole time though, because a recent leak of some of the game’s major plot beats angered both fans and the game’s developer Naughty Dog.
