Intel’s new graphics card is what the market needs.

When intel first announced the new Arc B580 graphics card, I was disappointed. It wasn’t the Nvidia RTX 4070 killer I’d been hoping for. But the more I think about it, the more I realise I was seeing it through the lens of an enthusiast. The thing is, most people don’t spend even $1,000 on a graphics card, so the $500 price of the B580 is actually bang on. The Intel Arc B580 and its new Battlemage architecture gives you a lot for just $500. Even Intel isn’t claiming the B580 can compete with a $900 RTX 4070, but it is claimed to have the measure of the 8GB Nvidia RTX 4060 in both traditional raster games and with ray tracing, and even when the 4060’s 8GB of memory isn’t…
