Microsoft’s AI Copilot is about to replace most knowledge workers

If you write reports, summarise data, respond to emails, attend meetings or make presentations in your day-to-day work, AI is about to change that.

OPINION | RANDOM ACCESS Bill Gates, in his online blog GatesNotes, referred to AI assistants as the “the biggest revolution in computing since we went from typing commands to tapping on icons.” And after playing around with the AI Copilot preview that Microsoft released in November, we couldn’t agree more. AI Copilot is Microsoft’s AI successor to Cortana that has been heavily influenced by OpenAI’s ChatGPT algorithm that repeatedly shocked the world late 2022 and early 2023. While ChatGPT-3 and its successors were undoubtedly impressive, they often made mistakes, and sometimes blatantly fabricated information.
