Mark Williams watches on as AMD passes the CPU gaming crown back to itself.

From the front lines of the Australian PC market The Ryzen 9000 series has turned out to be a disappointment for consumers. For the most part the Zen 5 architecture only offered around five percent gains in typical scenarios over the 7000 series, and there’s a similar if not worse situation for Intel, where its Core Ultra 200 series (in some respects) saw a regression in performance relative to the previous 14th generation parts. The newest generation x86 CPU’s have been quite underwhelming. Thankfully, AMD has released its most anticipated product for consumers in the form of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
