LIBREOFFICE WRITER & MICROSOFT WORD Create columns in a document By default, Word documents present text in a single column, with text flowing from left to right. But you can change this to two or more columns. To add columns to your whole document, click the Layout tab ( 1 in our screenshot above), then Columns 2 and choose a format of your choice. In our example, we’ve chosen Three 3 , as we want to style our document like a newspaper column. To do the same in LibreOffice Writer, click Format at the top, then Columns.
