The dreaded ‘pick-up effect’, in which the bike stood itself up more as throttle was applied, narrowing lean angle and thus cornering trajectory, has been all but nerfed. Kerbs feel slightly less deadly to venture a wheel onto, and stopping the bike feels kinder too. Meanwhile, the race stewards have been imbued with a keener eye on AI riders’ nonsense. Joining these newly fastidious stewards on the podium of new stuff is an updated rider market system that sees other riders from the MotoGP class, as well as Moto2 and Moto3 categories, moving between teams.
