What does the Coronavirus mean for the tech world?

COVID-19 may threaten a lot more than just technology.

The COVID-19 Coronavirus is dominating world news. I’ll try to steer clear of larger implications of its global spread and leave that to medical experts. Instead I’ll try to focus on what it means for the technology industry which at the time of writing, is already seeing significant impacts. Several major companies including Microsoft and Apple have issued revenue warnings, with many more likely to follow. The spread of the Coronavirus has resulted in large scale quarantining, travel bans, disruption of global supply chains, a stock market meltdown and a general increase in negative economic sentiment amongst many other effects.
