The Turing-based Nvidia RTX 2000-series cards released to date perform well and have a very forward looking set of features. One thing they aren’t known for, though, is great value. Mainstream gamers — the ones buying cards in the $200-$400 range — have been patiently waiting for Nvidia to release something that caters to them. The cheapest card in the RTX range, the RTX 2060, still starts at around $600, a price that’s too far outside of the range of mainstream gamers. Does a typical gamer playing Fortnite or Overwatch or MOBA titles need ray tracing capability?
