The latest annual Communications Market Report from the ACCC has been released and, despite what we’ve been hearing about much of the nation’s telecommunications infrastructure, the report shows a largely positive result for Australians. Overall, the pricing of fixed broadband, mobile services, and mobile broadband have all decreased since last year, with the latter two dropping by close to 10%. Despite the price drop, mobile phone and mobile broadband plans have seen enormous data increases – as much as 172% in the case of the average phone plan – since last year. This is perhaps both in response to, and the cause of Australians using 29% more data than last year in downloads.
