24 nordiska kvinnor som slog igenom på konstscenen 1870–1910 ställs ut i höstens stora utställning på SMK i Köpenhamn.

DE MÅLADE, DE SLOGS, de gjorde succé – och glömdes bort. Inte alla har fallit ur det kollektiva minnet, förstås, men skillnaderna mellan män och kvinnor på 1800-talets konstscen var enorma. Against all odds – Historiske kvinder og nye algoritmer heter höstens hyllade utställning på SMK, Statens Museum for Kunst, i Köpenhamn (till 8/12). Gemensamt för utställningens 24 konstnärer är att de lämnade sina hemländer för att pröva sina penslar ute i Europa. Deras vägar korsades och över gränserna kunde de hjälpa varandra framåt. Trots att de lyckades både utbilda och etablera sig som konstnärer har de aldrig fått de eftermälen de förtjänat. På SMK tar man hjälp av unga konstnären Ix Shells (f 1990) och hennes ai-teknik för att levandegöra tiden runt förra sekelskiftet och konstnärerna i en sorts…
