I have been thinking about putting together an issue of Ancient History on the Phoenicians for quite some time. As part of the interview process for this job, I had to put together an in-depth plan for an issue of AH, and that issue was to be on Phoenicians. What you see here is not quite a one-to-one reflection of my original plan. After all, the proposed issue was an ideal scenario, one which did not involve finding people to write the various articles nor that required consideration of the images that would be needed. However, despite that, there is still a lot of overlap, as well as elements that I had not initially considered.
