Det var oktober 1990. Susanne stod med ena handen vilande på masten och såg Vishavn närma sig. Eller rättare sagt, det var de som närmade sig land och inte tvärtom, tänkte Susanne och skrattade mot höstvinden som slet i hennes hår. Deras stålkutter, VS59/Sophie af Vishavn, var tungt lastad med sill och låg djupt i vattnet. Inne i styrhytten stod hennes pappa Jakob. Henning och Holger, som varit anställda hos dem sedan några år, var upptagna med att skotta en sista omgång is över fisken i lådorna nere i lasten. Hon borde hjälpa dem, det visste hon, men hon kunde inte tänka på något annat än att Bjarne väntade på henne i hamnen.
