Svärmor gjorde mig osäker

Vad tyckte egentligen min svärmor om mig? Hon var alltid sval mot mig och kändes mest som en ytlig bekant.

Martin och jag träffades på en kurs och förälskade oss. Jag var 34, han 35, och vi var båda helt redo för något annat än singellivet. Eftersom vi kände oss säkra på vår kärlek gick det därför ganska fort. Inom ett år hade vi flyttat ihop och väntade vårt första barn. Vi fick två flickor och sedan en pojke. Martin och jag var uppväxta på orten, och både hans och mina föräldrar bodde kvar här. Det betydde mycket när vi fick barn och behövde hjälp. Mina svärföräldrar sa nästan aldrig nej när vi bad dem om något, men jag önskade att svärmor hade varit lite mer entusiastisk. Jag var säker på att hon älskade barnbarnen, men hon var återhållsam med att visa känslor. Så hade det varit under hela Martins och min tid…
