She is also a participating scientist on the Mars Science Laboratory mission. What’s your role at NASA? I am a research scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. My studies focus on understanding the sources, alteration, and preservation of organic molecules in geological materials on Earth and Mars. I am a participating scientist on the Mars Science Laboratory [Curiosity] and a collaborator for the Sample Analysis at Mars [SAM] instrument suite that can detect organics in Gale Crater sediments.
