ASIAN ART MUSEUM’S 2024 GALA: Hallyu!

October 23, 2024 The Asian Art Museum celebrated its Hallyu! Nights Gala, its largest annual fundraiser, on Thursday, October 24 raising over $1.7 million for the museum. Led by Co-chairs Salle Yoo, current board chair, and trustee Varsha Rao, with honorary Chair Miky Lee, vicechair of South Korean entertainment conglomerate CJ Group, this year’s gala was themed around the museum’s latest exhibition, Hallyu! The Korean Wave, which highlights the meteoric rise of South Korean popular culture to a global phenomenon. To help celebrate the gala and this momentous exhibition—the first of its kind to feature South Korean popular culture in major art institutions—guests included K-pop stars Eric Nam and Roy Kim, the latter of whom performed an acoustic set during dinner.
