PEUGEOT ET LE TAXI VOLANT

Stellantis, la maison mère de la marque française, va produire un aéronef électrique, le Midnight, développé par Archer Aviation, une start-up américaine. Premier vol fin 2024.

Pas un mois ne passe sans qu’une start-up dévoile le projet d’un eVTOL (« electric vertical take-off and landing », ou « aéronef à décollage et atterrissage vertical »), communément appelé « taxi volant ». Mais avec l’annonce faite début janvier au dernier CES de Las Vegas, on passe à la vitesse supérieure. Le constructeur automobile Stellantis, qui détient notamment Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, Fiat et Jeep, a ainsi révélé qu’il allait produire le Midnight, un aéronef électrique développé par la jeune pousse américaine Archer Aviation. Il met sur la table 150 millions de dollars (140 millions d’euros) pour lancer dès la fin de l’année prochaine en Géorgie (États-Unis) sa fabrication « exclusive ».
